Defenses will be once again playing deep when South Carolina batters come to the plate in 2010. Nick Ebert (.321, 23, 72) is one of the top long ball hitters in the land and Jackie Bradley Jr. (.349, 11, 46) and Whit Merrifield (.340, 11, 49) are nearly just as capable of ripping the cover off the ball. Pitchingwise, big things are expected from fireballing Sam Dyson (9-4, 5.21) who is listed at number 38 on Baseball America's top 100. He'll be backed by Blake Cooper (9-4, 4.50) and Nolan Belcher (4-5, 5.33) who, despite his small size (listed at 5'8" and 155), comes up big in the clutch. (prev - next)
