TEXAS A&M aggies
(46-19, 19-8)
final 2008 ranking: #14

A&M captured back to back Big 12 and Regional titles in 2008 before falling to rival Rice in the Houston Super Regional. A three-peat for each crown should be in the College Station forecast as the Aggie roster is stocked with a core of athletes who know what it takes to win. The pitching staff boasts four hurlers who started at least 10 games last season as well as sterling relievers Kyle Thebeau (2.12 ERA, 79 K in 76 IP) and Travis Starling (8-2, 3.70, 9 SVs). Further solidifying the staff is former Winthrop ace Alex Wilson has also joined the Aggies after taking a year off due to injury. The departures of Jose Duran and Dane Carter will sting, but with hitters like Luke Anders (.349, 16, 58), Kyle Colligan (.317, 14, 39) and the emerging Nick Fleece (.231 in a limited role last season) back to propel the offense, Aggie fans should start checking out Omaha June hotel rates soon.
