Eight Frogs earned selection
on All MWC Teams last year and six will be back to play
ball for the purple and white. Chris Ellington (.344,
6, 55) had a team-best .579 slugging percentage and will
be looking to put up big numbers once again with Ben Carruthers
(.308, 2, 33) and Bryan Holaday (.311, 1, 41) providing
invaluable defensive efforts to go along with their plate
prowess. Tyler Lockwood (7-2, 2.75) started last season
in the bullpen but proved to be too invaluable not to
have in the regular rotation. A healthy return by Steven
Maxwell (1-0, 2.50) who was awarded a medical redshirt
after pitching in just three games could be the catalyst
the team needs to advance in the extended postseason.
The continued development of sophomore Sean Hoelscher
(7-3, 5.02) could also be the boon Coach Jim Schlossnagle
needs to take TCU to the next level. |
