FLORIDA gators
(34-24, 17-13)
final 2008 ranking: NR

Despite a couple of sub-Gator standard seasons and a pessimistic forecast leading into 2008, Florida impressed their first season under Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan and finished tied for second in the SEC East Division. Josh Adams (.330, 8, 51) and Team USA member Matt den Dekker (.337, 2, 44) lead an experienced offense that could erupt for runs and make life easy for the Gator hurlers. Patrick Keating (8-1, 4.16) is the most established arm, leading a number of pitchers who won’t necessarily knock the bat out of hitters’ hands, but will limit runners from crossing the plate with smart and accurate throws. The Gators tangle with Louisville and Miami the first two weekends of the season which could set the pace for the rest of the year.
