Last season, Ryan made the transition from starter to closer for the D&E hardballers. Not only did he move to the bullpen, he did it with style, as he set a school record with 10 saves; had an era of 2.57 to go along with his 3 – 1 record. With his help on the backside of the staff, the Senators made strides in 2009 by finishing second in the Central Division of the WVIAC and qualified for the conferences post season tournament. ALL PING!BASEBALL 2007 PRESEASON TEAM
THIRD TEAM

THIRD TEAM
The Third All-Ping! Team has plenty of bats and arms to impress as well. Tulane’s Warren McFadden is one of the brightest up and coming stars in the sport. Utility players Jared Prince of Washington State and Jericho Jones from Louisiana Tech both batted .400 while recording outs on mound. Evansville Ace first baseman Kasey Wahl and third baseman Curt Smith of Maine have sweet swings as well with .400 potential. Jordan Pacheco of New Mexico could lead the Lobos with Second Team All-Ping! player Ian Hollick to a record number of wins. Outfielder Austin Krum of Dallas Baptist, starting pitcher Brian McCullough of the Longwood Lancers, and relief ace Tim Haines from Texas Pan American are three sensational players from Independents who are worthy of individual accolades.

Pitchers Bobby Blevins of Le Moyne, Brad Bauch of Monmouth and Jamie Degidio from Rhode Island are pitchers with amazing stuff who would be more nationally known if they hurled in the south. Pitcher Dan DeLucia of Ohio State and outfielder Eric Rose from Michigan are two Big Ten standouts who prove that the conference isn’t just for football. VCU shortstop Sergio Miranda is a good with the glove as he is with his bat.
