Finding players for the second annual Ping!Baseball Preseason All Ping! Teams was extremely easy. From coast to coast, there are scores of student-athletes hitting the diamond who have the enviable talent and ability to someday play professional baseball. What’s difficult to do is to narrow down the list of worthy candidates. For every sweet swinging first baseman with a .400 batting average, there’s another who launches horsehide into the stratosphere with record breaking success. When you add defense, speed, past stats, projected stats and conference stats it does nothing but further complicate the debate. Nevertheless, after weeks upon weeks of dissection and discussion, Ping! is finally ready to present our choices for the 2008 All Ping! Teams.

There are some incredibly gifted players mentioned and many more exceptional athletes who just missed the cut. In an effort to make mention of a few more worthy players who deserve recognition we’ve added a “For Your Consideration” nomination. A selection not necessarily an “Honorable Mention” or the player who was next in line for All Ping! inclusion, the "For Your Consideration" player is an athlete from a school who has put up impressive stats, but just hasn’t had the opportunity to showcase them enough to be named to one of the All Ping! Teams.
